God, When I think of the nights my friends and I listened to this song and tried to figure out what it really meant! We listened, drunk, stoned, high, frying, sober, and every mixture in between. We boiled it down to an overdose in a mental hospital, but we were never sure who was really right. Depending on what state yer in, it takes on so many different meanings. We Are all prisoners of our own device. It says a lot! U can check out any time u like, but u can NEVER leave. LOVE THIS SONG!!!!!!

The “studio” version would be just the music. There is no ‘official’ video that just has the studio version of Hotel California.
